WHEN: 10am-1pm Saturday 10th March
WHERE: Outside Bondi Beach Pavillion, Campbell Parade, Bondi
Speakers: John Kaye (NSW Greens MP),

Local residents will build a giant solar thermal plant at Bondi Beach next Saturday as part of a launch of a “Let’s Build Big Solar-Wentworth” campaign.

The event is part of a national push by community groups across the country to ensure funds from the newly formed Clean Energy Finance Corporation will go towards building big solar projects.

“The Liberal Party have a chance to get behind big solar by supporting the Clean Energy Finance Corporation in parliament in the next few months.” Said Ian, member of local community group, Big Solar-Wentworth.

“We want to prove to Malcolm Turnbull it’s in his & his constituents best interests, to throw his support behind the CEFC in parliament and ensure that it is an effective vehicle for the construction of new big solar plants. To do this we will be polling a large number of Wentworth residents about their support for the building of large solar projects in Australia”.

“Our fossil fuel powered grid is charging us more and more every year for electricity so we need technologies like big solar that can provide affordable power into future.”

Big Solar has been proven to work, providing continuous base load power in Spain & USA. Base load means it is as reliable as currently conventional power stations.

Australia’s experience with solar panels has shown that the more you install, the cheaper solar power becomes, with prices dropping by 80% in the last 18 months alone. The same will be for Solar Thermal.

A group photo will take place at 11am.
